Jubilee Christian Charitable Trust

The Jubilee Christian Charitable Trust was originally set up in June 1989 by a few families from St David’s Church.  Various Southland Churches and their members help fund the idea of interest free deposits made available for interest free mortgages – to set borrowers off debt free early and be free to offer their resources back to various communities.

The idea was simple – a sharing of resources according to biblical principles with a mortgage period of just 7 years – 6 years to pay off the debt and the final 7th year was to continue with the same payment but this is classed as savings.  This was during a period when the mortgages were reasonably low and the interest rates very high.

Sadly over the years we no longer have the funds to continue funding interest free mortgages, but have a small capital that we can draw interest free loans from the Trust.  This is accessed through the Budget Service Financial Mentors when they are working with their clients and deem it would be in their best interest to help them out with a loan.

Donations are welcome to our relief fund account in which we can bless whanau with.

Statement of Doctrine

The Statement of Doctrine is the following seven doctrines which Jubilee Trust adheres to, namely;

  • (i) We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the infallible, authoritative word of God
  • (ii) We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Ghost
  • (iii) We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His personal return to power and glory
  • (iv) We believe that for the salvation of the lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential
  • (v) We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life
  • (vi) We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation
  • (vii) We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in Christ
